Robert " Bob " Harper (born August 18, 1965) is an American personal trainer and writer. She appeared on the American television series The Biggest Loser. On September 8, 2015, Harper was announced as the new host of The Biggest Loser , replacing Alison Sweeney. He is an advisor at The New Celebrity Apprentice.

Careers
Harper has worked as a personal trainer for celebrity clients, including Jennifer Jason Leigh. In 1999, she played an additional role in Melissa Etheridge's hit video for the song "Angels Would Fall" from her Breakdown album. He is featured as a trainer on the US reality television series The Biggest Loser. He has been a coach at the NBC show since 2004 and has appeared in several Biggest Loser DVD worksouts. Harper was also featured in the first three seasons of the Australian version of the show.
In addition to her performance, speaking, and writing, Harper teaches regular classes in Los Angeles and works as a yoga instructor.
In early 2010, Harper launched mytrainerbob.com, a website where customers can discuss weight loss and receive training. The success of his site led to the release of his first training DVD series in May, entitled "Bob Harper: Inside Out Method." Harper has also contributed to the magazine's Shapes training.

Personal life
Harper was born August 18, 1965 in Nashville, Tennessee. He studied at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, but did not graduate.
After reading Skinny Bitch's Skinne Bitch, Harper became a vegetarian. In 2010, he later became vegan. In the same year, PETA chose him as the sexiest male vegetarian this year. In 2013 Harper stopped following the vegan diet for wanting "something more." He practiced Transcendental Meditation. He is a diligent CrossFit athlete.
Harper has spoken against the dog factory and adopted a black and white dog from the Alliance of Animal Advocates in Baldwin Park, California. He named Karl's dog, after Karl Lagerfeld, because of the color of the dog.
Harper is the national spokesperson for Farm Animals of the Year at Farm Sanctuary.
Harper is openly outgoing as gay in the seventh episode of the fifteenth season of The Biggest Loser while speaking to a contestant who has trouble telling his parents about his sexuality. Harper reveals that he came to his parents at the age of 17, but this is the first time he talks about his sexuality in public in his career. This episode airs on November 28, 2013.
On February 12, 2017, Harper suffered a heart attack.
