In this market small-scale farmers can sell directly to consumers, thereby eliminating middlemen, who exploit farmers and consumers alike. Vegetables grown in the farmyard reach consumers directly. This direct sales resulted in farmers getting better prices. This has helped in price reductions in the market and other vegetable vendors. This system becomes economical for both farmers and end consumers and ensures good quality by reducing transportation.
Farmers benefit greatly from such businesses because they sell directly to customers and do not pay any commissions to agents. Customers also get good quality products. Thus they have become popular, creating a demand for producing small farmers.
