What makes the "packaged" information modeling package "full" compared to "compatible"? This seems to me quite a strange difference. Actually, what makes the "building information modeling package" altogether? IFC Compatibility? If so maybe we should rename the template to 'IFC comptible packages'....

As far as I can see, the term 'Modeling building information' is so widely applied that distinguishing one package from another based on it, seems quite unreasonable. Miscreant 05:38, November 4, 2007 (UTC)

You are right, but that's what life is at BIM. I would say that IFC compatibility is what is now called OpenBIM because basically any CAD package that allows you to add data about objects is build * information * modeling/management software.-- duncan.lithgow (talk) 21:32, 18 May 2013 (UTC)
