Poems

The poem is written in the form of a 10-line stanza with each rhymed verse:

At a time a frog
Drove away at Bingle Bog
Every evening from dusk until dawn
He brown awn and awn and awn Site Other creatures hate his voice, Site But, unfortunately, they have no choice,
And the frenzy rough
Blazing out of the sumac tree
On whose legs frogs every night
Minstrelled until the morning.

Stone or prayer or stick,
Insults or complaints or bricks Stop frog detection
> To show her joy Site But one night night
In the cold and pale moonlight
Perch on top sumac tree
Throwing melodies
Dumbstruck sitting gaping frog
And all swamps admired > Looking up at sumac, rapt,
And, when he's over, clapping,
Ducks have been swimming and Herons wading > Site For him while he sings Site And a solitary loon Wept Sites <, under summer months
Frog and teal and tiddlers, captured
With his voice, cheered, fascinated:
"Bravo!" "Too pure!" "Encore!"
So a nightingale no longer,
Simply not used for such applause, Sang Sang till dawn without pause. Site

Tema

Poetry is a fairy tale, as most fairy tales have a moral. Various themes are intertwined. Poetry can be seen as exposing the role of criticism of new talents; it can be read as exploitation of simple, original talent by {{clarify span | mediocre | date = April 2014} personal gain or as a poem about a jealous person who does not let real talent develop by discouraging and finally eliminating it. There is another subject to which the poet mentions: lack of self-confidence that leads to disaster and poets comment that one should recognize one's own abilities and should not try to imitate others. This poem is targeted at young audiences primarily and teaches how to stay away from cunning people who can exploit your talents for their benefit. The use of animal characters in poetry is for the purpose of appealing to a younger audience. The main character is the frog and the nightingale where the frog represents the cunning capitalist mind and the nightingale as a vulnerable artist. Arrogant frogs have mastered the swamp and tortured its inhabitants with its cacophonous song. The arrival of the nightingale and its singing provides a creature in a delightful resting marsh that admires its sweet voice. The frogs approach him and appreciate him like a critic who makes him feel flattered. She manipulates herself making her sing for her in concert and make money by selling tickets. The poor creature did not know how he was manipulated by a frog and sang until he lost his voice and health. Frogs pushed him to the brink where his health and energy failed and he died. The poem leaves behind a lesson that while it is good to be talented, you also have to pay attention to your weaknesses rather than being flattered to be careful in stepping toward your target. The nightingale is vulnerable to seduction and becomes a victim of frog manipulation. The poem uses the rhyme scheme of 'aabbccdd' and so on.
